Party Planning Is The Pits

Well it’s that time of year again! Well, it’s 2 months away but never the less I am birthday party planning for my son and it just doesn’t get any easier with age. We’ve decided on renting a room (got lucky that they will offer it out for free as long as we put down a $100 damage deposit that we get back… SCORE!) our townhouse is way too small to have that many adults AND children running around in it.

I figured that we would rent a bouncy castle, and since my son LOVES Thomas we would do a Thomas The Tank Engine theme… well geez louise! Thomas stuff is stupidly expensive and freaking overpriced! Plus you pretty much have to get it online so that adds to the expense since shipping is also through the roof. So I sat down with my common sense and reasoned with it. If we fork out the rate of a bouncy castle (which yet again is EXPENSIVE or we even look at BUYING one which is only $50 more than renting) then we’ll do a lowball theme which is a heck of a lot cheaper. I was thinking miscellaneous monster truck/derby idea since I found some incredibly cheap plates, hats, ect.

Is he really going to hold a grudge for the rest of his life that his 3rd birthday party wasn’t themed as Thomas? I doubt it. And if he does well then when he’s 16 we’ll throw a little blue engine party.

About vanitymom

I'm here to talk about not only the joys of motherhood but also the (not so much joys) of living in a high society world that you're judged upon your looks... where I live you need to be a 7 to gain beach access, an 8 to walk around half naked in the summertime and atleast a 9 to hold your head up high. I'm Vanity Mom. I will be talking about things such as parenting (of course) beauty tips for moms, exercise, and eating healthy... all while doing this with a kid biting the hell out of your leg because he's teething.
