Camping Then And Now

So my husband and I decided this year that we’re going to take our child camping (along with our best friends and their child.) I’m fully aware and prepared that this isn’t going to be the “vacation” that it once was which meant laying on the beach sun tanning for hours, sneaking back to the tent for midday nookie and nap, and drinking all night long while stuffing out faces with smores and popcorn. I’m preparing myself to be on constant alert of making sure junior doesn’t wander off, eat bugs, go anywhere NEAR the fire, eat dirt, and run off. Is there really any possible way to rope off a perimeter at a campsite with a 2 year old?

Suddenly the list of food supplies has grown by nearly double including Fishy Crackers, cookies, Bear paws, and Cheerio’s, we’re bringing along a stroller along with a wagon, and a playpen (for sleeping.) Along with a million toys in which we pray keep his attention for a little while as we try to sit and have a moment of sanity and peace.

I’m sure it’ll be an adventure and I hope the experience is a positive one since hubby and I are planning (hopefully) on doing plenty of camping and travelling as our son grows, whether its WITH or WITHOUT him is all up to him.

About vanitymom

I'm here to talk about not only the joys of motherhood but also the (not so much joys) of living in a high society world that you're judged upon your looks... where I live you need to be a 7 to gain beach access, an 8 to walk around half naked in the summertime and atleast a 9 to hold your head up high. I'm Vanity Mom. I will be talking about things such as parenting (of course) beauty tips for moms, exercise, and eating healthy... all while doing this with a kid biting the hell out of your leg because he's teething.
