Baby Products = Beauty Products

If you’re a mom you’re stocked up on baby supplies such as Vaseline, baby shampoo, baby oil, and baby cream. A lot of moms use these items strictly on their children but never think the benefits of using these wonderful items on one self. So here’s a few mommy uses for these wonderful baby items that you usually have at arms reach anyways.

Vaseline: Personally I don’t like the super sticky slimy feel of it but it works miracles on dry chapped skin such as hands and feet. I’ve found as a mom I wash my hands ALL the time now… there’s always some kind of mystery child goop or goo on them, I rarely have antibacterial wipes or lotion available so the hands go under the sink and into the hot water about 50 times a day which has lead to chapped hands. Solution: Major Vaseline on the hands at night followed by putting on some light weight cotton gloves… in the morning your hands will be silk smooth and ready for more abuse.

Baby Shampoo: If you’re like me and use product in your hair you might start to notice that your hair is becoming majorly weighed down, Baby Shampoo is a simple solution that is gentle on hair and doesn’t have a lot of product in it. If you need a break from chemicals then switch to something like Johnsons or Loreal for Kids and enjoy the feeling of fresh healthy hair.

Baby Oil: Obviously the stuff works MIRACLES on dry skin, as I’ve said before if you lather it on after a nice warm bath it’ll moisturize your skin like nothing else… but there are other great uses for this miracle in a bottle such as make-up remover, its amazing for cuticles and nails, and of course it helps those poor cracked heels from running around all day. Another quick tip, it works great as a polish on leather handbags, shoes, it can even be used as a cleaning product!

Baby Cream: Okay more like Diaper Cream, Products like Sudocreme can be used to dry out zits, soothe rashes, AND clear up eczema! No wonder we use this stuff on little bums. Does your baby cream have retinol in it? Great! Slather that under your eyes and on enlarged pores and you have a product that will turn back time and reduce puffiness and large pores making your skin look younger.

About vanitymom

I'm here to talk about not only the joys of motherhood but also the (not so much joys) of living in a high society world that you're judged upon your looks... where I live you need to be a 7 to gain beach access, an 8 to walk around half naked in the summertime and atleast a 9 to hold your head up high. I'm Vanity Mom. I will be talking about things such as parenting (of course) beauty tips for moms, exercise, and eating healthy... all while doing this with a kid biting the hell out of your leg because he's teething.
