Happy Thanksgiving

For those Canadian readers I’d like to say Happy Gobble Gobble Day, its that day of where we sit down and take a look at our lives and give thanks for the many things that we have… in lue of being a mother there are certain little things that seem to make life a little easier and so today I give a list of thanks.

Thanks to the coffee that keeps me awake, it warms my soul in the morning and gives me that perk that I need to get through the day.

Thanks to the husband whom some days when he gets home from work I can hand our son to and tell him “here he’s yours for the next ten minutes while I go to the bathroom in peace.”

Thanks for my family whom will take him at whims notice when I’ve just about had enough and all I want to do is go out for lunch and have a QUIET ADULT conversation with my husband.

Thanks for magical mobiles, bedtime ocean soothers, and a light up turtle which projects stars onto the ceiling and “soothe” my child to sleep at night, or at least slightly entertains him until he passes out from tiredness.

Thanks for Goldfish crackers which seem to be the perfect distraction while we’re in a public place and little Mr. gets cranky.

And Thanks for the perfect moments in life where my little boy gives me one of those “mom hugs” and rests his head on my shoulder while holding me tight, or when we’re walking along together at the park and he takes me hand and looks up smiling at me. Those perfect moments that make you forget the crushed fish crackers all over the rug, that every toy stopped working at once and needs new batteries, that your family is heading to Vegas sans you, that you’ve found all your husband’s misplaced socks in the couch, or that you’re out of coffee.

But seriously, I’m thankful for it all and that I am so blessed with everything that I have and would never want to take this life for granted.

About vanitymom

I'm here to talk about not only the joys of motherhood but also the (not so much joys) of living in a high society world that you're judged upon your looks... where I live you need to be a 7 to gain beach access, an 8 to walk around half naked in the summertime and atleast a 9 to hold your head up high. I'm Vanity Mom. I will be talking about things such as parenting (of course) beauty tips for moms, exercise, and eating healthy... all while doing this with a kid biting the hell out of your leg because he's teething.

  1. I’m so happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the accidental misinformation that’s at the other blogs. Appreciate your sharing this best doc.
