We are living in a time where social networking has gotten so incredibly huge that we can broadcast across the country in a matter of minutes that a child is missing, have people’s statuses on facebook read about supposed license plated and change our profile pictures to the missing child and what he or she was wearing. Its remarkable sometimes how parents and communities can come together over tragedy and help spread the news about a missing child.

The second a parent hears about a child being abducted their heart breaks, I couldn’t help but think of that poor little boy whom wasn’t safe at home tucked in his bed, about this child whom was most likely confused about what was happening and where he was going, frightened, and feeling unsure. No parent dreams that this could happen to their child, but it does. People came together through Facebook, changed profile pictures, statuses, and joined the group to help find Kienan Herbert. Last night I shed a few tears as I prayed that he would be found safe and sound as I recalled another incident which happened where I live where a small girl named Mindy Tran was abducted by her neighbour, the entire town searched for her for months… it wasn’t until years later that they found her body. I wished nothing more than that little boy safe, and this morning tears of joy flooded my eyes as my heart swelled with love that he had been returned safely. I could never imagine something happening to my child, to my precious little boy, my world would shatter, as I’m sure every parent feels when they’re faced with such a horrible situation. So mommy’s and daddy’s give your child an extra hug today and breathe easy for a moment that you know your child is safe and with you 🙂
